Twende Green Ecocycle was featured among leading youth-led innovations showcased at the Africa Union Climate Innovation Hub during the Africa Climate Summit held in Nairobi. The recognition highlighted our commitment to tackling marine plastic pollution through circular economy solutions that transform waste into value.
As part of the Mombasa Plastics Prize-winning innovators, Twende Green Ecocycle presented its model of recycling marine plastic waste collected from informal settlements into durable school eco-desks. This innovation demonstrates how environmental challenges can be converted into opportunities that support education, sustainability, and community development.
The showcase brought together young innovators from across Africa working on bold climate solutions, providing a platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and engagement with policymakers, development partners, and investors.
